Medical Skin Care at AARVA
- Skin assessed by doctors who can also see your bloods, history and medication
- Medical-grade devices and prescription skincare where it is appropriate
- A plan measured in months, not a single appointment
Skin Is a Medical Question Before It Is a Cosmetic One
Acne that has not responded to three years of products. Pigmentation that darkens every summer. Redness that turns out to be rosacea. Texture and laxity that have been building quietly since your thirties. All of it is assessed here by doctors who can also see your bloods, your history and your medication, which matters more often than people expect.
Skin that will not settle is sometimes a skin problem and sometimes a sign of something else, and we are set up to tell the difference. We treat with medical-grade devices, prescription skincare where it is appropriate, and a plan measured in months rather than a single appointment.
Skin responds slowly, so we plan in months and set out the expected timescale and cost before you commit to anything.
“The first appointment is where the real work happens. Once we understand your skin, the right plan is usually simpler than people expect.”
What We Treat
We see people for:
- acne and acne scarring, at any age
- pigmentation, melasma and sun damage
- rosacea, redness and broken capillaries
- texture, pores, fine lines and skin quality
- laxity and loss of firmness
- moles, lesions and skin checks, including removal where appropriate
Probably not the right first step if you:
- want one session to transform your skin
- want a treatment booked without an assessment first
- have a skin infection or a severe flare that needs treating today
Not sure where to start? Book a skin consultation and Aura analysis.
Before and After

Our Promise to You
The standards every Aarva patient can expect, whatever they come in for.
- You see a doctor before any treatment is planned.
- You get a written treatment plan to take away, with clear pricing, so you can go ahead on the day or decide in your own time.
- We will tell you if a treatment will not help, even if that means no treatment at all.
- If something does not feel right afterwards, a doctor sees you.
- Your consultation is time with a doctor, set aside just for you.
How We Work
Four steps, and a plan built around your skin rather than around a device.
A proper history
What you have tried, what you take, and what else is going on in your health.
An examination in good light
We examine your skin properly and explain what we think is happening, and why.
Measured, not guessed
Where it helps, we photograph and scan your skin so change can be measured over time.
A plan with timescale and cost
Written down before you commit, and reviewed as your skin responds.
Why Doctors Lead Your Skin Care
Dr Shivani Malhotra leads skin and regenerative medicine at Aarva, and Dr Saptarshi Saha, who holds a postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology, leads on lesions, moles and minor surgery. Aesthetic practitioners on our team work under their direct supervision, to plans the doctors have written.
Why Patients Choose Aarva
Doctor-led from the first appointment
Every consultation is with a doctor, and every plan is written by a practising GP.
GPs still in practice
Our doctors, Dr Saptarshi Saha, Dr Purti Choudhary and Dr Shivani Malhotra, are GMC-registered GPs who still work in general practice.
One medical record
GP, skin and women’s health care sit on one record, so nothing gets lost between appointments.
It starts with a consultation
A doctor assesses you properly, explains your options and gives you a written treatment plan with clear pricing, so every step that follows is the right one.
Questions Patients Ask About Medical Skin Care
Cannot see your question? Our doctors are happy to talk it through.
We are GPs with a special interest in skin, one of us with a postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology. If you need a consultant dermatologist, we will say so and refer you.
Yes, with a parent or guardian present for anyone under sixteen. We treat the acne medically first; devices come later, if at all.
Yes. Skin checks and mole assessment are part of our general practice service, and removal is available on site where appropriate.
Sometimes. If products will help, we explain exactly which ones and why.
Most skin plans run over months. We tell you what to expect at each stage, and we review you rather than leaving you to guess.
Redness, swelling, dryness and sensitivity are common in the days after most treatments. Some devices are not suitable for darker skin types, for certain conditions or alongside particular medicines, and some prescription skincare cannot be used in pregnancy. We check all of this at consultation, and your written plan sets out the specific risks before you consent.
Come With the Problem, Not the Treatment
You do not need to know which treatment you want. Tell us what is bothering you, and a doctor will look properly and plan it with you.
