You Have Probably Been Told It Is Normal
Exhausted, and told it is your age. Bleeding heavily, and told that is just how some people are. Something intimate or urinary that you have not said out loud to anyone, including the last doctor you saw, because there was not time and it did not feel like the moment.
It is very common. It is not the same as normal, and it is not the same as untreatable. Aarva’s women’s health service is led by GPs who have spent their careers in this and who will give you the appointment length it actually takes. You will be asked what you think is going on before anyone tells you, and nothing gets waved away.
We will investigate before we treat, explain every option including doing nothing, and refer you to a gynaecologist or other specialist when that is the right answer. We will not start any medicine without a consultation and a discussion of its benefits and risks for you specifically.
“So many women tell me they nearly did not mention it. My job is to make the room feel like the right place to say it, and then to do something about it.”
What We See Women For
Hormones, cycles and fertility:
- Perimenopause and menopause. Sleep, mood, brain fog, joint aches, temperature changes, and the symptoms nobody warned you counted. We talk through every option, hormonal and non-hormonal, so you can decide with the whole picture in front of you
- Periods. Heavy, painful, irregular or simply changed. We investigate the cause rather than treating the symptom
- Fertility and pre-conception. Where to start, what is worth checking first, and what to do with the results
Intimate, sexual and workplace health:
- Intimate and urinary health. Dryness, discomfort, recurrent infection, leaking, prolapse symptoms and pain during sex. These are medical problems with medical answers
- Contraception and sexual health. Advice across every method, including coil fitting and removal, and sexual health screening
- Corporate women’s health. For employers who want to support women through perimenopause and menopause properly. Email bookings@aarva.net to start the conversation
Not sure where your symptoms fit? That is what the first appointment is for.

Our Promise to You
The standards every Aarva patient can expect, whatever they come in for.
- You see a GP, every time.
- You know the price before you book, and you choose a 20 or 40 minute appointment.
- Your plan is made with you in the appointment, there and then.
- We will tell you if a treatment will not help, even if that means no treatment at all.
- Your consultation is time with a doctor, set aside just for you.
From First Conversation to Follow-Up
Four simple steps, with the same doctor from your first appointment to your follow-up.
Book directly
No referral from your GP is needed. You choose a 20 or 40 minute appointment, and you can mention what it is about when you book, or save it for the room.
A proper history
Your first appointment is long enough to talk properly. We take a full history and examine if it is appropriate.
Tests arranged for you
Bloods are taken here. If a scan would help, we refer you to the right provider and the results come back to us.
Your plan, and follow-up
Your plan is agreed with the doctor in the appointment. Where treatment is right, we can start it here, and you see the same doctor at follow-up.
GPs Who Have Made This Their Work
Dr Purti Choudhary, a GP for fifteen years with a diploma in contraception and sexual and reproductive healthcare, Chief Medical Officer at Langton Medical Group, and a career-long focus on women’s health. Dr Shivani Malhotra, a founder of Aarva, who shares the women’s health work and leads the treatments that sit alongside it.
Why Patients Choose Aarva
Doctor-led from the first appointment
Every consultation is with a doctor, and every plan is written by a practising GP.
GPs still in practice
Our doctors, Dr Saptarshi Saha, Dr Purti Choudhary and Dr Shivani Malhotra, are GMC-registered GPs who still work in general practice.
One medical record
GP, skin and women’s health care sit on one record, so nothing gets lost between appointments.
It starts with a consultation
A doctor assesses you properly, explains your options and agrees the next steps with you there and then, so every step that follows is the right one.
Questions Patients Ask About Women’s Health
Cannot see your question? Our doctors are happy to talk it through.
No. You can book directly, with no referral from your GP or any other service.
Our introductory prices are £80 for a 20-minute appointment and £150 for a 40-minute appointment.
Where treatment is appropriate, it can be prescribed and started here after a full consultation. What that treatment is depends on your history, your symptoms and your preferences, and we discuss it with you in the room rather than on a website.
Where they help. For perimenopause, the diagnosis is usually made on symptoms and history rather than a hormone test, and we will explain when a test is useful and when it is not.
Yes, and you would not be the first this week. You can mention it when you book, or not, and raise it in the room.
Yes. Our corporate women’s health service is for employers who want proper, doctor-led support for staff. Email bookings@aarva.net and we will call you.
Come With the Symptom, Not the Label
You do not need to know what it is. Tell us what has changed, and a doctor will take the time to understand it with you. Women’s health appointments open once our Care Quality Commission registration is complete. Join the waitlist and we will contact you as soon as booking opens. Laser and radiofrequency intimate treatments can be booked now.
