iS Clinical Fire & Ice at AARVA
Smoother, brighter, better-hydrated skin, usually straight back to your day
About iS Clinical Fire & Ice
The iS Clinical Fire & Ice facial is a resurfacing treatment in two stages. First, a warming resurfacing masque made with glycolic, lactic and other fruit acids, retinol and antioxidants lifts dead surface cells and refines texture. Then a cooling masque with hyaluronic acid and soothing plant extracts calms and hydrates the skin. It is used to brighten dull, uneven skin, help keep breakout-prone skin clearer and refresh dry, dehydrated skin, with little or no visible peeling.
Fire & Ice at Aarva is planned by Dr Shivani Malhotra, a practising GP who leads our skin and regenerative medicine, and delivered in our practice on Midland Drive, Royal Sutton Coldfield. Even a facial is planned by a doctor here, because active ingredients interact with skin conditions, prescription creams and pregnancy, and because dull or spotty skin sometimes has a medical cause. You leave your consultation with a written treatment plan with clear pricing.
“Fire & Ice is my answer when you have an event coming up or your skin needs a lift. It is a treatment you can see the benefit of the same week.”
Is Fire & Ice Right for You?
Likely a good fit if you:
- have dull, rough or uneven skin, mild breakouts or dehydrated skin
- want a visible refresh before an event, with no real recovery
- would like a regular skin treatment alongside good home care
Probably not the right first step if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding, as the resurfacing masque contains vitamin A
- have taken oral acne medication in the last six months, or have active cold sores, eczema or broken skin
- have scarring or deeper pigmentation, where chemical peels or LaserMe may do more
Not sure which side you are on? That is exactly what the consultation is for.

Tell us what is bothering you
Request an appointment online or get in touch. You can describe it in a sentence, or save it for the room.
See a doctor from the start
A GP takes your history, looks at your skin and explains whether Fire & Ice suits it, or whether something else would do more. You leave with a written treatment plan with clear pricing.
Your treatment
Your skin is cleansed, the warming masque goes on for a few minutes, then the cooling masque, followed by serum and sun protection. It takes 45 to 60 minutes.
We follow you up
Written aftercare and a named person to call. If you are having a course, we review your skin at each visit against your starting photographs.
Why a Doctor Plans Your Fire & Ice Facial
Fire & Ice at Aarva is planned by Dr Shivani Malhotra, GP, who leads skin and regenerative medicine. Every treatment is planned and overseen by a doctor.
The warming stage is where the resurfacing happens, so we check what else your skin is using before we start. Retinoids, exfoliating acids and some prescription creams usually need to be paused for about a week either side. Because we are GPs, we also look for what sits behind dull or spotty skin, from hormonal acne to rosacea and eczema, which may need a different plan altogether.
Fire & Ice works well within a wider skin plan. It can keep skin fresh between chemical peels or courses of LaserMe, pair with Neauvia Hydro Deluxe for dehydrated skin, and is supported at home by medical-grade skincare.

Questions Patients Ask About iS Clinical Fire & Ice
Cannot see your question? Our doctors are happy to talk it through at your consultation.
The first masque uses a blend of fruit acids, vitamin A and antioxidants to loosen dead surface cells and warm the skin for a few minutes. The second masque cools, calms and hydrates. Together they leave the skin smoother and brighter without the peeling of a stronger peel.
It is used for dullness, rough texture, uneven tone, mild breakouts, congested pores, fine lines and dehydrated skin. It is a refresh rather than a treatment for scarring or deeper pigmentation.
Most skin types tolerate it well. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active cold sores, eczema or broken skin, within six months of oral acne medication, or if you are sensitive to its ingredients. If you use retinoids or prescription creams, we tell you when to stop them beforehand and when to restart.
Warmth and tingling during the first masque, and some pinkness for a few hours afterwards, are expected. A little dryness or light flaking can follow for a day or two. Sensitive skin occasionally becomes irritated.
Most people find it comfortable. The first masque feels warm and tingly for a few minutes, and the second feels cool and soothing. If the warmth becomes too much, we take the first masque off early.
Very little. Most people go straight back to work or out for the evening. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, saunas and strong sun for about a week, and wear SPF 50 every day.
One facial gives a visible refresh. For ongoing improvement, many people have a course of up to six, about four weeks apart, then a facial every month or two to maintain it.
Skin usually looks brighter and smoother straight away, and at its freshest over the following few days. Changes to breakouts and texture build across a course.
Fire & Ice is a gentler resurfacing facial with very little downtime, and it suits skin that wants a regular refresh. A chemical peel can be stronger and more targeted, particularly for acne, pigmentation and scarring, with more flaking or peeling afterwards.
The iS Clinical Fire & Ice facial is available at Aarva on Midland Drive, Royal Sutton Coldfield, a short drive from Four Oaks, Walmley, Erdington, Lichfield, Tamworth and north Birmingham. Parking is available nearby.
The Fire & Ice facial at Aarva is priced individually, with course pricing where it helps. You receive the full price in writing at your consultation before you commit. It also earns points in the Aarva Circle.
Come With the Problem, Not the Treatment
You do not need to know whether a facial, a peel or something else is the answer. Tell a doctor what is bothering you, and you will leave with an honest view of what will help, and what will not.
