About Your Skin Consultation
A skin consultation at Aarva starts with a conversation with a doctor. A doctor takes your history, including your general health, medication, hormones and anything you have already tried, then looks at your skin properly. Many skin concerns, from acne to melasma, have a cause beneath the surface, and that is where we start.
We then scan your face with Aura, a 3D imaging system made in Switzerland by Hexagon, a company better known for precision measurement in engineering and motorsport. Thirteen cameras capture your face in 0.2 seconds and build an accurate 3D model that measures fine lines, enlarged pores, redness, pigmentation and volume loss.
You go through the results on screen with your doctor, so the plan makes as much sense to you as it does to us. You leave with a written treatment plan with clear pricing. If you go ahead with treatment, we scan again at follow-up, so you can see what has actually changed rather than relying on memory or a flattering photo.
“I would rather show you what is happening in your skin than tell you. When we look at the scan together, the plan stops being my opinion and becomes something we both understand.”
Is a Skin Consultation Right for You?
Likely a good fit if you:
- want to understand what is really going on with your skin before spending money on it
- have tried products or treatments that did not give you the result you hoped for
- are considering laser, skin boosters or injectables and want a doctor’s view first
- would like a measured starting point, so you can track results over time
Probably not the right first step if you:
- have a mole or mark that is changing, bleeding or growing, which should be seen by a GP promptly
- have a skin infection or a severe flare that needs treating today
- want a treatment booked without an assessment first
Not sure which side you are on? Call us and we will point you to the right appointment.

Our Promise to You
The standards every Aarva patient can expect, whatever they come in for.
- You see a doctor before any treatment is planned.
- You get a written treatment plan to take away, with clear pricing, so you can go ahead on the day or decide in your own time.
- We will tell you if a treatment will not help, even if that means no treatment at all.
- If something does not feel right afterwards, a doctor sees you.
- Your consultation is time with a doctor, set aside just for you.
From First Conversation to Follow-Up
Four simple steps, with the same doctor-led care from your first message to your follow-up.
Tell us what is bothering you
Request an appointment online or get in touch. You can describe it in a sentence, or save it for the room.
See a doctor from the start
A GP takes your history and examines your skin in good light, asking about the things that often show up in skin first, such as hormones, stress and medication.
Your Aura scan
Thirteen cameras capture your face in a fraction of a second. Nothing touches your skin. You see the 3D results on screen, and your doctor explains what they show.
Your plan, and follow-up
A written treatment plan to take away, with clear pricing, and a clear next step when you are ready. If you go ahead, we scan again at follow-up so you can see the difference for yourself.
Why a Doctor Leads Your Skin Consultation
Your consultation is led by Dr Shivani Malhotra, a practising GP who leads our skin and regenerative medicine. Skin is often where other things show up first: hormones, thyroid, iron levels, stress and medication. A GP can recognise those links, arrange the right blood tests here, and treat the cause as well as the surface.
Why Patients Choose Aarva
Doctor-led from the first appointment
Every consultation is with a doctor, and every plan is written by a practising GP.
GPs still in practice
Our doctors, Dr Saptarshi Saha, Dr Purti Choudhary and Dr Shivani Malhotra, are GMC-registered GPs who still work in general practice.
One medical record
GP, skin and women’s health care sit on one record, so nothing gets lost between appointments.
It starts with a consultation
A doctor assesses you properly, explains your options and gives you a written treatment plan with clear pricing, so every step that follows is the right one.
Questions Patients Ask About Skin Consultations
Cannot see your question? Our doctors are happy to talk it through.
A doctor takes your history, examines your skin and scans it with Aura. You go through the results together, then talk about what would help and what would not. You leave with a written treatment plan with clear pricing.
Aura is a 3D facial imaging system made in Switzerland by Hexagon. Thirteen cameras photograph your face at once and build an accurate 3D model, which measures fine lines, pores, redness, brown spots, texture and volume.
No. It is photography, using cameras and light rather than X-rays, and nothing touches your skin. The scan itself takes a fraction of a second.
No. Many people come for the consultation alone, to understand their skin. Your plan is yours to keep, and you can book treatment whenever you are ready.
Please come with clean skin if you can, or allow a few minutes to remove make-up before your scan, so the cameras see your skin as it really is.
Yes. We scan again at follow-up and compare the two, so you can see measured change in texture, pigmentation or volume rather than guessing from photos.
The fee is confirmed when you book, and you will always have a written price before any treatment is started.
Come With the Problem, Not the Treatment
You do not need to know which treatment you want. Tell us what is bothering you, and a doctor will look properly and plan it with you.
